The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has adopted sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and various digital strategies to present guidance and advice to those visiting the Grand Mosque, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
A total of 52 digital screens are employed both inside and outside the Grand Mosque, encompassing an area of 279 square meters, to broadcast custom-tailored guidance material.
A team of respected religious scholars and advisors is responsible for creating the content, ensuring it is appropriate for different times and events. This content is then translated into various languages by another dedicated team. Positioned at strategic points including the mosque’s entrances, exits, courtyards, and access routes, these screens operate around the clock to assist visitors and pilgrims.
In an innovative step, the authority has introduced an interactive guidance robot. This robot aids pilgrims by distributing essential brochures and publications that help in the performance of their religious duties.
The guidance robot is equipped with educational and directive content, which visitors can conveniently access and share using their mobile devices.
