Naver, South Korea’s largest internet platform operator, has entered into a preliminary agreement with Saudi Arabia’s AI agency to develop a large language model (LLM) for the Arabic language.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed at the Global AI Summit in Riyadh, hosted by the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA). The collaboration will focus on AI, cloud computing, data centers, and robotics.
Under this agreement, Naver and SDAIA will work together to create an Arabic LLM and other technology solutions. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision of building a tech-driven economy by 2030.
Previously, Naver partnered with the Saudi government to develop a digital twin platform for Riyadh and four other cities.
