The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has recently issued a significant license to TONOMUS, a digital technology firm within the futuristic NEOM project. This Wholesale Infrastructure Services License spans all categories and is set to revolutionize the provision of cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated digital infrastructure in NEOM. The granting of this license signals a strategic move to foster a conducive atmosphere for high-tech innovations, lure leading technology experts, and support state-of-the-art supercomputing solutions.
The ceremonial handover of the license, which permits TONOMUS to operate within its defined license parameters, was conducted in the presence of esteemed figures. Among them were TONOMUS CEO Joseph Bradley, Eng. Abdullah Al-Sawaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and CST and NEOM Tech Chairman of the Board, as well as NEOM’s Chief Executive, Eng. Nadhmi Al-Nasr.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Governor of CST, emphasized the license’s pivotal role in ushering in advanced digital technologies for NEOM. He highlighted how a robust, diverse, and high-quality infrastructure is crucial in broadening business opportunities and enhancing service delivery. Dr. Al-Tamimi also noted that the introduction of new infrastructure service providers under this license is a strategic move that will drive infrastructure advancement, meet the surging data demands, improve services, and fulfill the Kingdom’s vision of transforming NEOM into the world’s foremost hyper-connected cognitive community.
