As urban landscapes evolve, Hitek, a subsidiary of the Farnek group, has entered into a strategic joint venture with Virgin Mobile Saudi, part of the Beyond ONE group. This collaboration aims to spearhead the development of smart cities within Saudi Arabia, elevating the nation’s digital infrastructure.

The essence of smart cities lies in their connectivity. Virgin Mobile Saudi will collaborate with local entities to provide state-of-the-art telecommunications solutions. This includes the deployment of 5G networks, digital services, and overall enablement of advanced connectivity.

Key Focus: Virgin Mobile Saudi and its partners will play a crucial role in outfitting smart cities with cutting-edge telecommunications solutions, from 5G networks to digital enablement.

Yaarob Al-Sayegh, CEO of Virgin Mobile Saudi, emphasized the importance of technology in urban transformation. “Our alliance with Hitek is a milestone in bringing our vision of sustainable, tech-driven cities to life in Saudi Arabia,” he noted. Al-Sayegh further explained that the partnership aims to establish a robust infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and integrating technologies like AI and IoT to improve residents’ lives and stimulate regional economic development.

Hitek will utilize the communications framework to implement a wide array of digital solutions. This includes optimizing utilities management, enabling smart transportation, advancing urban development, and integrating data analytics alongside AI.

Javeria Aijaz, Hitek’s managing director, conveyed the significance of the partnership, “This collaboration with Virgin Mobile Saudi allows us to provide a sophisticated and analytical digital platform. It connects individuals, assets, and environments,” she explained. Aijaz highlighted that IoT, machine learning, and AI technologies will be instrumental in providing a holistic overview of facilities, enhancing operational management and sustainability.

The agreement initially focuses on smart building solutions for prospective projects in Saudi Arabia, marking the first step in a broader vision for technologically advanced urban spaces.
