Red Sea Global (RSG), the acclaimed developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala projects, has recently shared insights into the exceptional mobile internet capabilities available at its premier destinations. An independent assessment conducted by Ookla using Speedtest measurements during the latter half of 2023 spotlighted The Red Sea destination’s median download speed at a remarkable 696.37 Mbps. This figure surpasses the global city leader by a notable 86%, setting a new benchmark in digital connectivity for luxury travel.

Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index™ is a monthly ranking of mobile and fixed broadband speeds from cities and countries around the world. Dr. Ahmed Ali Alsohaily, the Group Head of Technology at Red Sea Global, stated, Our gigabit 5G network enables guests to connect with their loved ones and share their experiences in real time. It also ensures we can deliver on our seamless experiences, whether at the resorts or our airport, or while guests are out and about exploring the destination.

Further details reveal that the Six Senses Southern Dunes resort boasts a download speed of 1,446.04 Mbps, the Red Sea International Airport at 1,276.65 Mbps, and Ummahat Islands at 992.33 Mbps. Even Turtle Bay, the central hub for residents, impresses with 844.54 Mbps.

The deployment of the 5G network faced the challenges of varied terrains, including beaches, mountains, and deserts. RSG has met these challenges by utilizing innovative tower designs and materials that harmonize with the natural surroundings. The network establishment saw over 100 activations of 4G and gigabit 5G cells across The Red Sea and Amaala, as well as along connecting routes, in partnership with prominent telecommunications providers Zain KSA, stc, and Mobily.

RSG did not compromise on its environmental ethos while delivering cutting-edge connectivity. The entire network operates on 100% renewable energy, aligning with the company’s dedication to sustainability. Alsohaily highlighted RSG’s commitment to redefining luxury ecotourism by weaving together advanced connectivity, smart technology, and a strong environmental conscience.

With the powerful gigabit 5G network employed at the airport and top-tier resorts, RSG is ensuring guests have an uninterrupted, seamless experience throughout their stay.
