Saudi Arabia is rapidly emerging as a global leader in artificial intelligence, attracting significant investments from major industry players like SambaNova Systems. This US-based AI solutions provider aims to deliver advanced infrastructure to support the Kingdom’s economic growth and position it as a hub for innovation.

SambaNova specializes in advanced machine learning and AI solutions, helping businesses enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Marshall Choy, senior vice president of product at SambaNova, emphasized the company’s commitment to establishing durable AI facilities in Saudi Arabia to drive economic growth and innovation.

Choy stated that AI is reshaping global dynamics and can give businesses a competitive edge by improving decision-making and reducing costs. “We are making a strategic investment in Saudi Arabia because the region views AI as essential for economic growth and becoming a global innovation hub,” he said.

SambaNova’s collaboration with local organizations is crucial for developing AI expertise in the region. Choy highlighted the importance of partnerships in establishing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the Middle East and North Africa. The company’s expansion into Saudi Arabia also aims to reach other Gulf countries, focusing on skill development through structured training programs.

This expansion aligns with SambaNova’s broader vision of supporting digital transformation for both government institutions and corporations. Choy noted that AI is increasingly vital for nearly every organization, viewing it as an asset rather than just a tool.

The Saudi government’s $40 billion investment in technology supports the industry’s development, with Choy emphasizing the fast transition and acceleration from a technology and infrastructure perspective. SambaNova aims to be the leading AI provider in Saudi Arabia, partnering with Aramco to deploy AI systems for its internal intelligence system, Metabrain.

Beyond technological advancements, Choy stressed the significant impact of AI on Saudi Arabia’s startup ecosystem, fostering innovation and enabling businesses to scale. He praised the Kingdom’s business environment for its willingness to engage and collaborate, driven by ambitious AI adoption goals.

Looking ahead, SambaNova plans to co-design localized solutions with Saudi partners, contributing to the Kingdom’s long-term AI goals and broader digital transformation. “The people of Saudi Arabia are incredibly welcoming,” Choy said, expressing enthusiasm for future collaborations.

As SambaNova expands its operations in Saudi Arabia, it remains committed to helping the Kingdom achieve its AI ambitions and drive regional digital transformation.
