Saudi Arabia’s public cloud services market is projected to grow at a 23.4% CAGR, reaching $3.9 billion by 2027, according to the International Data Corporation. To support the kingdom’s Vision 2030 economic reform strategy, Huawei Cloud has introduced new AI initiatives.
These initiatives, announced at the Huawei Cloud Summit Saudi Arabia 2024, position Huawei Cloud as a significant player in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. The new AI capabilities follow the opening of Huawei’s data center in Riyadh, offering enhanced computing power, cost efficiency, data security, and improved service experiences.

Roy Luo, vice president of the Cloud Consulting Solution Sales Department at Huawei Cloud ME&CA, emphasized the region’s premium cloud experience, extending benefits to neighboring regions with latency under 100ms.
Saudi Arabia has implemented data localization regulations, boosting cloud adoption. Huawei Cloud serves over 300 clients in Saudi Arabia, including government agencies, telecom providers, fintech firms, media outlets, and 90% of Chinese companies operating in the country. Its AI-powered solutions are transforming sectors such as government services, retail, and finance by providing intelligent solutions.
In the government sector, Huawei Cloud is aiding the development of a big data platform for efficient inter-departmental data sharing and accelerating smart city initiatives with the Pangu government model. Additionally, Huawei Cloud has helped develop an Arabic large language model (LLM) powering over 20 AI applications.
Steven Yi, Huawei senior vice president and president of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia Region, reiterated Huawei’s commitment to the region, emphasizing continuous innovation and talent development in AI, big data, and cloud computing to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
