The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has taken a significant step forward in the realm of digital transformation by introducing an array of innovative digital products and services. These advancements were revealed during a visit to the Saudi Digital Pavilion at the LEAP 2024 technological conference, a gathering that saw the participation of the governor of the Digital Government Authority and various ministry leaders.
The latest digital offerings include a suite of tools designed to bolster the social rehabilitation and guidance platform. Among the rolled-out features are systems for family guidance, which provide services and consultations, as well as direct access to family counselors backed by certified professionals. The ministry also launched a system aimed at licensing and overseeing social specialists, ensuring their professional standards are recognized and maintained.
Another critical component is the family protection system, which simplifies the process for registering and tracking reported cases, working in tandem with security authorities to protect the privacy and safety of individuals involved.
These digital tools are part of a broader strategy to create an electronic directory for family guidance centers and counselors, complete with user feedback. The initiative also streamlines the process for social qualification holders to obtain and manage their licenses and accelerates the response to family protection reports.
In addition, the ’empowerment service’ was inaugurated as part of the social support and protection platform. This service is tailored to equip social security beneficiaries, who are able to work, with targeted training that aligns with their educational background and skills. This platform has already provided training opportunities for over 100,000 young adults in the past year, focusing on enhancing cognitive abilities and entrepreneurship to meet labor market demands and improve beneficiaries’ socio-economic conditions.
The ministry’s commitment to reducing in-person visits and providing remote services was reiterated by Eng. Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development. He noted the remarkable progress made since the digital transformation initiative began four years ago, with automated digital services now representing 80% of all services provided. Furthermore, the minister has set a goal to introduce 300 additional automated services by the end of 2024.
The ministry’s active participation in LEAP 24, which hosted an impressive assembly of over 1,000 technology companies and 1,000 experts from 180 countries, highlights its dedication to enhancing service delivery and showcasing its digital achievements to the world.
