Qualcomm, Aramco, and Saudi Arabia’s Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA) are collaborating to launch the Design in Saudi Arabia (DISA) program.

DISA aims to nurture Saudi startups utilizing AI, IoT, and wireless technologies for industrial applications. The program will support early-stage tech startups by offering guidance from product design to commercialization. It provides technical assistance, business coaching, and intellectual property training to bolster Saudi Arabia’s tech ecosystem. Participants will benefit from Qualcomm and Aramco’s expertise and RDIA’s strategic insights.

Startups may access Qualcomm’s platforms, including mobile, 4G, 5G, IoT, AI, and machine learning technologies, as well as Aramco’s innovation lab. The program offers incubation support, lab access, and financial grants, enabling startups to collaborate with Qualcomm’s business teams and explore global opportunities. This initiative seeks to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy, enhance local content, and drive innovative growth, aligning with RDIA’s goals.

Wassim Chourbaji, SVP & President, Qualcomm MEA, expressed enthusiasm about fostering high-tech innovation in Saudi Arabia. The initiative aims to propel the Kingdom into an advanced digital future by supporting AI and IoT startups.

Nabil A. Al Nuaim, SVP, Digital & IT at Aramco, highlighted the goal of creating a digital superhighway connecting startups with resources and market opportunities. This effort is intended to accelerate digital transformation and establish a globally impactful ecosystem.
