Shaqra University has recently achieved notable success at the 49th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, claiming three prestigious awards for their groundbreaking research contributions. The event, which ran from April 17 to 21, drew innovators from around the world, and Shaqra University stood out with its compelling projects.

The institution’s most distinguished accolade, a gold medal, was bestowed upon Dr. Mohammad Tabish and his colleagues from the College of Medicine. They were recognized for their pioneering creation, an ‘Electroconvulsiometer for anti-convulsant activity,’ which marks a significant advancement in medical technology.

The university’s expertise in cybersecurity was also highlighted as Dr. Bandar Alotaibi and Dr. Munif Alotaibi from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology clinched a silver medal. Their invention, aimed at ‘Detecting cyberattacks targeting Internet of Things environments,’ not only secured the silver but was also honored with the Thailand Award for Best International Invention and Innovation by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).

A second silver medal was awarded to Dr. Tabish and his team for another impressive invention. Their ‘Herbal formulation for the prevention and management of atherosclerosis’ demonstrated the university’s commitment to addressing critical health challenges through innovative research.

The achievements of Shaqra University at this esteemed international platform underscore the institution’s role in advancing scientific knowledge and its contribution to global innovation.
