According to a recent report, domestic flight bookings increased by 45% in 2024, driven by expanded tourism options and affordable flights from low-cost carriers. This surge highlights a growing interest in local exploration, especially during peak periods like Eid Al-Fitr.

Saudi Arabia is heavily investing in tourism infrastructure under Vision 2030, aiming to double its accommodation capacity by 2030. The country plans to become a top global tourism destination.

Emerging destinations like Abha, Al Jubail, and Hail are gaining attention for their unique attractions. AlUla is becoming a premier destination, showcasing the Kingdom’s investment in diversifying its tourism appeal.

The Haramain Train improves access to key cities, reducing traffic and enhancing connectivity. The hospitality sector is adapting to increased demand by focusing on personalized experiences.

Hotels are offering culturally inspired packages and programs during Eid, and there’s a growing demand for alternative accommodations like vacation rentals and villas. Digital innovation is crucial for enhancing the travel experience.

Future domestic tourism will be shaped by technology and evolving consumer expectations, with a focus on personalized and seamless experiences. Expansion beyond urban centers is unlocking new opportunities.

Infrastructure developments are making remote destinations more accessible, and businesses are creating experiences linked to local culture. This approach resonates with travelers seeking more than just leisure.

As Saudi Arabia continues to enhance its tourism sector, domestic travel during Eid Al-Fitr is expected to remain a key component of its evolving travel landscape.
